生物多样性是人类社会经济发展离不开的物质基础，大数据为全方位了解生物多样性提供了一个重要渠道。海量的物种分布数据为生物多样性保护和研究提供了有力的支撑，大大促进了探索生物多样性保护规划、生物多样性对全球生态系统变化的响应、生物多样性大尺度格局形成、外来种入侵态势预测等方面。目前，在利用大数据绘制生物多样性地图，将生态位模型和人工智能模型结合进行物种识别等方面已开展了大量工作。未来，将探索建立完善的科学数据汇交、分享体系，促进大数据科研范式下重大生物多样性成果的产出，以更好地服务生物多样性保护工作。
